How to Properly Care for Scissors:
- Cleanliness: Wipe the scissor blades with a clean, soft cloth made of fabric or leather after each use.
- Disinfection: Scissors should be disinfected regularly.
- Oiling: The joint between the scissor arms should be oiled regularly but not too frequently. It is recommended to do this once a week for very intensive work. NOTE: Do not lubricate the connecting mechanism or the adjustment mechanism, only the crescent and the slide – the flat area between the handles and the scissor mechanism. Before each lubrication, thoroughly clean the scissors from hair. It’s best to place the scissors on a paper towel and open them to the maximum. Then, oil them, grip the scissors with both hands by the arms, and gently open and close the scissors several times (4-7 times). This will evenly distribute the oil on the crescent’s surface. Wipe off any remaining oil on both sides of your scissors with a paper towel.
- Storage: After each day of work, clean the scissors! Do not store them dirty with hair residues. To prevent damage, we recommend storing scissors in a safe and dry place, and most importantly, the blades should be closed.
- Adjustment: Blade tension adjustment should be checked every time, but it should be adjusted as infrequently as possible, only when necessary.
- Service: Dull or improperly functioning scissors should always be sent for sharpening and repair to a professional service.
